Scout Network

How old are Scout Network members?

Scout Network is the final youth section in the Scout Association. Members are aged between 18 and 25, though young people can join any time after they are 17½. Many members will also be involved in Scouting in some other way, for example as a Section Leader.

What do Scout Network members do?

Scout Network members make their own arrangements for activities and meetings. These may take place regularly or may be arranged based on the interest and availability of members. The local Scout Network Leader will themself be a member and will simply help to organise the activities which the members want to do.

Activities may include camping, hikes, climbing, go-karting, pioneering, shooting and watersports - anything which the members want to have a go at!

Scout Network is a good way to stay involved if you are moving away from home, for example to university. If you're aged 18-25 and are moving to Oxford for the first time the local Scout Network will be pleased to welcome you.

Scout Promise
On my honour
I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God
and to the King
To help other people
And to keep the
Scout Law

What do Scout Network members wear?

Network Scouts wear an adult leader uniform with a Scout Network badge. This consists of a stone shirt/blouse and a Group scarf (often called a necker). Official uniform clothing can be bought from local uniform suppliers and also online from the Scout Shop.
